Air Barrier Inspections

Moisture carried into a building by air can be up to 100 times greater than moisture entering by water vapor diffusion. Be confident you’re keeping unconditioned air and moisture out.

  • Catch air barrier problems early in the build process.
  • Be confident you’re ready for a blower door test.

This type of inspection ensures the installed air barrier is sealed to effectively keep unconditioned air from leaking into conditioned spaces. If a home doesn’t have an effective air barrier, the humidity outside brings unwanted moisture inside which over time can cause a host of problems.

An air barrier inspection is not required by code. However, it is recommended as a first step to prepare for a blower door test. It’s much easier to address air leakage issues while the air barrier is still exposed instead of after a blower door test.

On average an air barrier inspection takes 1 hour in an average-sized home. This of course varies for large or multi-family buildings.

The average cost is $150. We offer volume pricing for builders. Call for a custom quote.

Insulation Inspections

Get the most from your thermal barrier with an insulation inspection.

  • Confidently meet code
  • Increase comfort
  • Increase energy efficiency
  • Know your R-Value is correct

A technician will inspect all insulation installed on the building to verify it is installed correctly and that the R-Value of the insulation meets code for that assembly (wall, ceilings, or floors).

Most states, including Georgia, Alabama, South and North Carolina, require an insulation inspection for newly constructed and renovated homes. This is often performed by a building inspector but sometimes a municipality requires the third-party inspection we provide.
